Can Somebody Recommend A Good Crossbreed Dog?

I want to get a new puppy after summer is over. I am looking for a crossbreed, not a purebreed. I do not like purebreed dogs, so don’t even go there. They have too many health problems. I’m not new to dogs, but am not sure if I can handle an aggressive breed. I live in an apartment and have a 5 year old son. We would like a small dog. Shedding doesn’t bother me, but the dog has to be hypoallergenic because of my son’s allergies. Grooming isn’t really a matter because I can give the dog whatever it needs, but only have the weekends for exercising the dog. I don’t need a protection dog either. We currently have a Schnoodle, which is a wonderful crossbreed, but we are looking for a different one this time. I do not want to get a shelter dog, so please don’t recommend that. I want a puppy and I want to know where the dog comes from These are the breeds we’ve been looking at:
Bichon Yorkie
Bichpoo
Cairland Terrier
Cairmal
Cairnoodle
Cavachon
Chichon
Chinese Crestepoo
Chonzer
Cockachon
Cockerschnauz
Crested Tzu
Doxiechon
Glechon
Havamalt
Lachon
Malton
Mauzer
Miniboz
Papichon
Peekapoo
Poovanese

Brand new name made specifically as a troll account it seems:http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind…
So to answer your question again that has simply be done with new silly mutt names (I’ll even change it to suit your very few additions and subtractions):
Well let’s start by dispelling the myth that purebreds are unhealthy, and/or that mixed breeds are healthier than purebreds:
Poorly bred purebred dogs and mixed breed dogs are both high risk for health problems, as compared to purebred dogs bred by reputable breeders.
Reputable breeders work to breed genetic health problems out of the line by doing genetic health testing on both parents to be sure that nothing is being passed on just because it can not necessarily be seen. If the dog can not pass all the health testing than a reputable breeder will get that dog fixed as breeding dog with health issues will not improve the breed which is the point in breeding in the first place.
With mixed breed (which reputable breeders do not breed) or poorly bred purebred dogs there’s no telling what you’ll get and you can have health issues brought in from every side. For example- If both parents have hip problems and are bred all the puppies produced are higher risk for hip problems. It does not matter if you’re breeding two purebred dogs, two different breeds of purebred dogs, or two mutts genetic health problems are not breed specific. Going even further if a dog with hip problems and a dog with eye problems are bred together you have puppies that are higher risk for getting both hip and eye problems again regardless of breed(s).
You can take it one step further once again even with what happens when dogs of opposite temperament are bred (as temperament is at least partially genetic)- Let’s use the same example as earlier with a Pug x Beagle cross- You have a dog that’s pretty well known for respiratory issues (and as the person is breeding mixed breeds they don’t have the best stock in the first place) with a breed well known for wanting to sniff, run, hunt, and track. What happens when you end up with a puppy that wants to sniff, run, hunt, track, and so on… but can’t?
Reputable breeders do not breed mixes as 1. the point of breeding is to improve a breed which is not done when breeding mixes as they have no standard, and 2. there are a ton of perfectly good mixed breed companion dogs available at your local shelter without more being brought into the world.
So on to the question at hand:
I would advice avoiding anyone breeding designer mutts period. They’re looking for your money, nothing else. Calling any mixes the names you listed is a scam in it’s own right- A mixed breed dog is a mixed breed dog- Combining breed names is pointless, and means you’re simply lying about what the dog is (are you embarrassed to say you have a mutt? I sure the heck wasn’t with my first dog).
Next, I can’t recommend a mix for you- No one can. Mutts can get characteristics from either parent breed, making them unpredictable. No one can tell you what that dog is going to grow up to look and act like, and anyone that says they can is lying. Mixed breeds do not have a standard and thus no predictable characteristics.
Finally… No dog is suitable for your home. All dogs regardless of breed should get at least one walk a day. Walking on weekends is not good enough and I would suggest looking into a pet that required less care as you do not appear to currently have time for a dog at the moment.

Hahahahahahah! OK….I’m praying to God that you are getting one from a shelter, not a garbage, worthless, crappy backyard breeder. Those are all designer dogs with idiotic names…lol. Poovanese? Cairnoodle? Bichpoo? (B*tch-poo) :O

There is no such thing as a “hypoallergenic” dog. Dogs are not pillows, please do not refer to them as such. Pet allergies come from dander, which is in skin. If your son is allergic to dogs, he’s going to be allergic to any dog with skin. So unless your fancy designer mutt breeders can corner the market in “Skinless-poo”, there are going to be some allergies. There’s no way, ESPECIALLY with a mixed breed to know for a fact what he won’t get the worst reactions from. I’m sure you already know, but let me just tell you this, no GOOD breeder breeds two different breeds to sell them, so what difference does it make knowing where the dog came from if it came from an irresponsible person? Just something to think about.
Here’s a list of real breeds that are known to be allergy friendly..if you are stuck on getting a mutt, then get a mix of these if you must.

    2. Bedlington Terrier
    3. Bichon Frise

*faints from laughing too hard* Reputable breeders do not breed mutts. Mutts are unpredictable and have the same amount, if not more, health problems than purebreds. You should do a couple more years of research before getting a dog.

  6. Marley Smith Jul 29th, 2010 @ 11:35 | #6

Umm… I hope you know that crossbreed dogs are ALL from backyard breeders first of all. Second, that whole purebreds have more health problems, is totally untrue. It depends on where the dog comes from, and also it depends on the owner. Third, and most importantly, you said you didn’t want a shelter dog, well sorry to disappoint you but all like 99% of dogs there are crossbreed dogs. Where do you think these shelter dogs come from. They don’t appear out of thin air!!! WE DO NOT NEED ANYMORE SHELTER DOGS!!!!!! The dogs in the litter that people don’t want, may end up in your local shelter. This is ridiculous!
Just wanted to also add that THERE IS NOOOOOO SUCH THING AS A GOOD MUTT BREEDER!!!!!!! Yes, lady those little stinkypoos and cockypoos are MUTTS!!! They are EXACTLY what you would see in a dog shelter! Obviously all what ten of us are not getting this bolted through your head, so have fun paying all those medical bills because of the BACKYARD BREEDERS! :)
Hmmm whats the kennel name of that Schnauzer breeder? Why don’t we see if they’re AKC registered? Trust me, every good, reputable breeder would NEVER, EVER create more mutts.
Oh and also, it is COMPLETELY, ENTIRELY, 100% against the AKC rules, for members to crossbreed their dogs. So come on, why don’t you give me the kennel name to see if they’re actually registered.
“Please be wary of people marketing high-priced mixes, and keep in mind that reputable breeders of Schnauzers or Poodles will not knowingly participate in such schemes. They generally are poorly bred mixes from poorly bred parents. If you are interested in such a mix, please contact your local breed rescue organization or shelter. There are always plenty of Schnauzer and Poodle mixes available.”
That comes from the American Miniature Schnauzer Club website. Links below!

Well I guess some back yard breeder or pet store who sources their pups from puppy mills will be rubbing their hands together because they are about to make a sale.
You want to know where the dog comes from? Here you go:- It will come from a back yard breeder who throws non health tested dogs of any breed together or a badly bred pup from a puppy mill via a pet store.
Why make a list of fictitious names up for cross bred dogs. If you want a cross bred dog then call it whatever cross it is instead of silly made up names that have been dreamt up in an attempt at conning the gullible into thinking they’re getting a designer breed instead of a mutt.
ADD: Excellent breeders do not cross breed dogs. Only back yard breeders do. Excellent breeders breed only to improve the breed. Back yard breeders breed only for money.
This breeder has 7 champion Mini Schnauzers? Then she must be a member of a reputable registry or she would not be able to title her dogs. It’s against the rules of reputable registries to cross breed dogs. If the registry knew she was using registered dogs to cross breed then she would cop a fine for the first error and be banned for further errors. I think you’ve been spun a pack of lies and you’ve fallen for a sales pitch. Most BYB’s are good spin doctors.
ADD: Well caught Aussie. It’s just a troll. Thanks for alerting us.
I wonder what happened to the St Weiler.

“I got my Schnoodle from an excellent breeder”
Um, no you DIDN’T. Excellent, reputable breeders do not breed mutts, give them cutesy names and sell them for $$$$ to people like you. Horrible, greedy backyard breeders DO.
Shame on you for supporting the breeding of MUTTS for profit. It’s people like you that keep this unethical breeders in business.
LOL that you mentioned your MUTT is registered with the ACHC. That is a BOGUS registry getting rich by providing paperwork that is WORTHLESS to these greedy backyard breeders. There’s no such thing as a Schoodle, Papichon – it’s all well, a mix of Bull Terrier and Shih Tzu – BULLSHIHT!

I have recently purchased a Lha-chon and he is like a little cuddly bear, he just wants to be cuddled 24/7. If you are after a little lap dog that doesn’t require much grooming, doesn’t shed too much, don’t require that much exercise then the Lha-chon would suit you great. He is also very alert and itelligent & Will give a warning back in matters of protection. He’s just a beautiful little dog. Just make you socialize them at an early age, mine is around dogs, cats, small furries & birds and most importantly my two children.
    good luck
    xx

wow. i think you have just listed about every mutt in our local shelter….
these are MUTTS no better than the other 5millions mutts being put down each year, because people like you dicide you eant to pay 100s for a byb dog that wont live long to be “in style”
    shame on you.

Bichon Yorkie is what I have she has just had 6pups you could never ask for a better dog. Just get one and you will see for yourself that I had no need to explain you will fall in love instantly x
Your welcome I hope you gte one and if you live near Glasgow you are more than welcome to come have a look at my dogs pups xxx
Back yard breeders listen to yourslefs for crying out loud it was an accident my dog fell pregnant and she and pups are doing great they are gorgeous and healthy. I know more unhealthy pure bred dogs than any other dog I know and those people would get a cross next time they said. I am not a backyard breeder!! While I appreciate people do this its a minority NOT the majority.

Anything with oodle at the end should be good..
    edit ***M***
I never got the puggle.. They look like mutts.. I mean you see a labradoodle, or whatever, and some of them, I must admit are gorgeous. but a puggle looks like any mutt at the Pound. Why breed for this?.. Also those are just 2 horrible breeds to mix.. your just asking for a hyper, LOUD mess..
I groom one, Chadwick, and he is the stupidest hardest dog ever.. and he’s just a BATH!
I WAS JOKING.. So hold your thumbs.

  17. Jeff Jul 31st, 2010 @ 16:20 | #17

labradoodles are nice but not on the small size and schneagles are fun and small but sometimes are ornery and stubborn but both are great dogs

Have you checked out Yorkie/Maltese mix? that’s what I got, my puppy is 10 weeks old and he is a Yorkie+Maltese cross, they are adorable and they have both characteristics mixed in, he can be fun and playful and very active as the Yorkie and then he can also be a great lap dog, relaxes and during this moments just loves to lay around or play calmly.
Check them out, you can search them up as “Morkies” (before anyone says anything stupid, I know that “Morkie” is not considered an actual breed,) but you can search them up under that name, mine is a Light golden color, along with white parts growing all over so i guess he took after his mom the Maltese, but his facial features seem to resemble the yorkie, while his ears are resembling the Maltese.
It’s a great mix, and they’re beautiful and small sized too, along with little or no shedding and great for apartments because I live in one too, and they’re good with kids!
I’m glad you don’t care about them being cross breeds because some people actually seem to have something against cross breeds, but I think cross breeds can be even cuter than purebreeds (I’m not saying I dislike any dog though). Well you get my point, either way I hope you find the right one!
